Detailed Itinerary 

Day 1: Travel to Kibale 

Following an early breakfast at your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe, or early morning arrival, you will meet with your safari driver guide who will also be taking you through your 7-day Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Uganda safari. First, the driver guide will brief you about your Uganda safari and what it entails. After that, embark on a 6-hour drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy remarkable sights along the way as you drive through remarkable forests, swamps, villages, and towns. You will have a stopover in Fort Portal town – Uganda’s tourism city for lunch. After lunch, visit Amabere ga Nyina Mwiru and the crater lakes before proceeding with your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. On arrival check into your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Lodge. Meals: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest 

Today’s highlight will be chimpanzee trekking! After breakfast at your lodge, you will be transferred to Kanyanchu Tourism Center to embark on your adventure. By 08:00 am, the activity will start with a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. You will also be assigned a ranger and a chimpanzee troop to trek. Take time to marvel at the tropical paradise Kibale is while in search of the primates. You will be glad to encounter numerous creatures including Black-and-White Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, giant forest hogs, baboons, squirrels, antelopes, and birds.

The trek is likely to take between 2 to 4 hours depending on where the chimp troop is; but after finding them, you will have an hour to spend time observing how the chimps live. Enjoy watching them feed, play, and roam around their territory. Furthermore, take time to enjoy capturing photos and memories before returning to the headquarters for debriefing. You will be driven back to your lodge for lunch and relaxation and later in the evening, take a stroll to Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a nature walk. In the wetland, amazing sights of different primate species, birds, mammals, and plant and tree species await you. Following the swamp tour, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Lodge. Meals: Full board

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 

On the 3rd day of your 7-day Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Uganda safari, wake up to a leisurely breakfast before checking out of your lodge and heading for Queen Elizabeth National Park (Uganda’s second largest national park). Stunning vistas of crater lakes, tea, and banana plantations, as well as the Rwenzori Mountain Ranges, await you along this 3 – 4-hour journey. On arrival in the Park, you will have lunch at your lodge and relax. In the evening, embark on an evening game drive to spot After arriving at the park, you will have lunch, rest, and then embark on an evening to spot various species such as buffaloes, bush bucks, water bucks, elephants, Kobs, warthogs, giant forest hogs to mention but a few. After the game drive, return to your lodge and have dinner. Overnight stay at Bush Lodge. Meals: Full board

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, your driving guide will pick you up for an early morning game drive which is often the most fulfilling game drive. Driving through the scenic Kasenyi plains, expect to see animals such as Uganda Kobs, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, and bushbucks, among others grazing in the vast savannah plains. If you are lucky, you will get to spot predators including lions, leopards, and hyenas heading back into their hideouts. After the 4-hour game drive, return to your lodge for a full breakfast and later lunch.

In the afternoon, take to Kazinga channel for your afternoon boat cruise. Kazinga channel is a water channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the boat ride, you will be able to see big concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water; as well as numerous elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, and other animals drinking water along the shoreline. Moreover, you will enjoy abundant sights of bird species including hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and fish eagles. Dinner and overnight at Bush Lodge. Meals: Full board

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi 

On the 5th day of your 7-day Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Uganda safari, have breakfast and check out of your lodge as you head for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Before you exit Queen Elizabeth, you will have a stopover in the Ishasha sector to marvel at the famed tree-climbing lions. Expect to find them lazily relaxing in the fig and acacia trees. Proceed with your journey to Bwindi and on arrival, check into your lodge and relax. Dinner and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge. Meals: Full board

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi 

After an early breakfast, you will pack a lunch, snacks, and water, and meet your driver guide who will transfer you to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking which starts with a briefing at 08:00 a.m. Following the briefing, you will be assigned a habituated gorilla group to trek and an armed ranger who is familiar with the hiking trails. Thereafter, off into the jungle, you go! Gorilla trekking is an exhilarating adventure that takes between 30 minutes to 6 hours: and this often depends on where the gorillas are found. Nevertheless, you will be excited to encounter a range of creatures such as monkeys, olive baboons, a variety of bird species, and remarkable plant and tree species among others.

Once you have located the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed an hour to interact with the apes in their natural habitat. Enjoy watching them feed on leaves and shoots, while others relax calmly in the shrub. You will also get to learn about their unique habits and survival in the highlands; take photographs, and record videos to capture once-in-a-lifetime moments with these giant primates. After gorilla trekking, trek back to the park headquarters where you will be picked up and dropped off at your lodge. Refresh and relax in the jungle while enjoying the breeze and sounds of the jungle. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge. Meals: Full board

Day 7: Travel back to Kampala/Entebbe 

Today is the 7th day of your 7-day Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Uganda safari and it marks the end of your long and exciting Uganda safari. Today, wake up and have breakfast before checking out of your lodge. You will meet your driver guide and big Bwindi farewell as you depart for Kampala/Entebbe. En route, you will have a few stopovers for lunch in Mbarara City and at the Equator Monument at Kayabwe for a brief equator experience; among other things, enjoy photography and buy some African souvenirs. Proceed with your journey and on arrival in Kampala. Transfer either to your hotel or Entebbe airport for your departure back home. Your 7-day Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi Uganda safari have finally come to an end.
